The UCL Centre for Consciousness Research (UCCR)

The first cross-disciplinary centre dedicated to advancing the science of consciousness through the integration of psychedelics, meditation, and computational neuroscience.

We study altered states of consciousness - such as those arising from psychedelics, meditation, and other contemplative practices - using approaches from neuroscience, psychology, phenomenology, and computational modelling. Our research examines how these states affect brain function and transform subjective experience.

By combining empirical investigation with robust theoretical frameworks, we aim to advance scientific understanding of consciousness and explore its relevance for cognition, creativity, well-being, and broader aspects of human potential.
