Welcome to the UCL Centre for Consciousness Research (UCCR)

The UCL Centre for Consciousness Research (UCCR) conducts interdisciplinary research on consciousness, integrating neuroscience, psychology, philosophy, and computational methods. Our work focuses on understanding altered states of consciousness, particularly those induced by psychedelics and meditation practices.

Using advanced neuroimaging and phenomenological approaches, we investigate the neural mechanisms and experiential qualities of consciousness. Our research explores how these altered states influence cognition, creativity, and self-experience, with the goal of developing empirically grounded theoretical frameworks in consciousness science.
